A bugle screw is a form of self-drilling screws that’s specifically designed for drywall applications. Bugle head screws feature a countersunk head with a flat top and a concave under-head bearing surface. This unique design enables the distribution of the bearing stress over a much wider area than is possible with a flat head screw.
These screws are especially useful in applications where the screw must lie flush in the material and eliminate the need to predrill a countersinking hole.
Most bugle head screw have phillip drive but you can also get a bugle head drywall screw with a square drive.
