JCB3LM-80 series earth leakage circuit breaker ELCB is suitable to industry, commerce, high-rise building, household and other kinds of places.when people come across the electric shock or the leakage current of the electrical network exceeds the fixed value, this product can cut off the fault current in short period so as to protect person and the equipment, It also can be used in the infrequent starting of the circuit and motors.
The primary functions of JCB3LM-80 ELCB are to ensure protection against earth fault currents, overload, and short circuit currents. It is recommended that an ELCB be attached to each separate circuit, meaning that a fault in one circuit will not affect the functioning of the others. When an electrical fault occurs, such as a wire coming into contact with water or a person getting an electric shock, there is a leakage of current to the ground. This is where the ELCB comes into play. It quickly detects the imbalance in the electrical circuit and automatically shuts off the power supply, preventing any further damage or harm.
JCB3LM-80 ELCBs is able to prevent electric shocks and fires. By quickly cutting off the power supply when a fault is detected, Our JCB3LM80 ELCBs reduce the risk of electrocution and potential electric fires. This is particularly important in homes, where electrical accidents can easily occur due to various reasons such as faulty wiring, damaged appliances, or wet environments.
Our JCB3LM-80 ELCBs also help to safeguard electrical equipment and appliances. By shutting off the power when a fault is detected, they prevent damage to devices and avoid potentially costly repairs or replacements.
JCB3LM-80 ELCBs play a crucial role in electrical safety by detecting and preventing electrical faults that could potentially lead to electric shocks and fires. Their ability to quickly disconnect the power supply when a fault is detected helps to keep people and property safe from electrical hazards.
JCB3LM-80 series ELCB has been increasingly used as backup protection for ground faults and direct contact and indirect contact electric shocks in low-voltage power distribution systems. Our ELCB is a safety device that quickly breaks an electrical circuit to protect equipment and to reduce the risk of serious harm from an ongoing electric shock. It can also prevent fire caused by the continuous ground fault due to the over-current protection device not operating. Earth Leakage circuit breakers with over-voltage protection can also protect against over-voltage caused by power grid faults.

Ambient air temperature: the upper limit is not more than +40ºC, the lower limit is not less than -5ºC, and the average temperature of 24h does not exceed +35ºC
Note:
(1) If the lower limit is -10ºC or -25ºC working conditions, the user must declare to the manufacturer when ordering.
(2)If the upper limit exceeds +40 ºC or the lower limit falls below -25 ºC, the user should consult with the manufacturer.
Installation location: no more than 2000m above sea level
Atmospheric conditions: The relative humidity of the atmosphere does not exceed 50% when the ambient air temperature is +40 ºC. Higher relative humidity can be allowed at lower temperatures. For example, reaching 90% at +20ºC. Appropriate measures should be taken for occasional condensation due to temperature changes.
Installation conditions: The external magnetic field of the installation site should not exceed 5 times the geomagnetic field in any direction. Generally installed vertically, the handle upwards is the power-on position, with a tolerance of 2 in any direction. And there should be no significant impact or vibration at the installation site.
The JCB3LM-80 ELCB ensures protection against two types of electrical fault. The first of these faults is the residual current or earth leakage. This will happen when there is an accidental break in the circuit, which may occur as a result of wiring errors or DIY accidents (such as cutting through a cable when using an electric hedge cutter). If the supply of electricity isn’t broken, then the individual will experience a potentially fatal electric shock.
The other type of electrical fault is the overcurrent, which may take the form of an overload or short circuit. In the first instance, the circuit will be overloaded with too many electrical devices, resulting in the transfer of power exceeding the cable capacity. Short-circuiting may also happen as a result of insufficient circuit resistance and high-level multiplication of the amperage. This is associated with a greater level of risk than overloading.
Type AC
They are commonly installed in homes and meant to be used for alternating sinusoidal residual current to offer inductive, capacitive, or resistive equipment. These ELCB/RCBO operate instantaneously to detect imbalance and do not have a time delay.
Type A
Are used for residual pulsating DC of up to 6mA and alternating sinusoidal residual current
What is Earth Leakage?
The electrical current that flows from the live conductor to the earth through an unintended path is called earth leakage. It may flow between their poor insulation or through a person’s body & cause electrical shock. The consequence of electrical shock may prove fatal if the leakage current exceeds the only 30mA. Therefore, protection devices are used to disconnect the power source when such current leakage is detected
Causes of Earth Leakage?
Earth leakage can occur due to various reasons. It can occur due to damaged insulation of the live conductor or broken conductors. It can also occur when the live conductor comes in contact with the body of the equipment (if the equipment is not properly grounded). Upon touching the conductor or the equipment, the current can pass to the earth through the person’s body.
Function of JCB3LM-80 ELCB
JCB3LM-80 Elcb is a safety device whose main function is to prevent electrical shock. It monitors the leakage current that flows out of the circuit through any unintended path. It also can protect against overloading & short circuit current.
Types based on Poles
According to the poles of circuit breakers, the ELCB is classified into three types.
2-Pole ELCB: it is used for protection in a single-phase system. It has 2 ingoing & 2 outgoing terminals having phase & neutral connections.
3-Pole ELCB: It is used for protection in a three-wire three-phase system. It has three ingoing & three outgoing terminals.
4-Pole ELCB: It is used for protection in a four-wire three-phase system.
