RACK AND PINION
The rack is a toothed bar that meshes with the pinion gear, which is connected to the steering column. When the steering wheel is turned, the pinion gear rotates, causing the rack to move linearly. This motion is transmitted to the tie rods, which turn the wheels.
TIE RODS
The tie rods are connected to each end of the rack and transfer the linear motion of the rack to the steering knuckles, which ultimately turn the wheels. They ensure that both front wheels are synchronized in their movement.
BOOTS
Boots are flexible rubber or plastic covers that enclose the inner tie rod ends. They protect the tie rod ends from dirt, debris, and moisture, helping to extend their lifespan and maintain smooth operation.
